Jack Nicora is a multi-talented, self-taught musician and singer/songwriter, spotlighting doo wop and early rock and roll. Born October 11, 2002, Jack is a lifelong resident of McKeesport, Pennsylvania. His parents and extended family have proudly resided in the Pittsburgh area for generations. Jack has loved doo wop music since he was a child and first saw the 1993 movie, “The Sandlot.” Set in the summer of 1962, the film features legendary doo wop and R&B music from that time period. Additionally, Jack cites influence from artists such as Jimmy Beaumont & The Skyliners, The Drifters, Lou Christie, Dion & The Belmonts and Kid Kyle.
Recently, Jack performed on premiere night of American Idol Season 21, which aired on Sunday, February 19, 2023. During the show, Jack is seen singing the iconic doo wop song by Fred Parris & The 5 Satins entitled 'I Remember (In the Still of the Night)' accompanied on background vocals by Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan... and Mango, Jack's colorful dancing and singing diluted green cheek conure! Mango even gets the chance to show off, dancing to his favorite song 'Rockin' Robin' with Jack during his memorable segment.
On November 24, 2023, Jack released on CD his first album of original material entitled “Love Makes Me Dream.” The album features 12 uniquely nostalgic, yet modern "doo wop" style tracks written, arranged and recorded entirely by Jack. He handles all the vocal parts and plays every instrument on this collection! The album will also see a vinyl release in January 2024.
Currently, Jack is on the road building his base and pleasing his loyal fans by performing solo concerts and appearing with DJ Mike at all types of events throughout Pittsburgh and the surrounding area.
