Jack Nicora is a multi-talented, self-taught musician and singer/songwriter, spotlighting doo wop and early rock and roll. Born October 11, 2002, Jack is a lifelong resident of McKeesport, Pennsylvania. His parents and extended family have proudly resided in the Pittsburgh area for generations. Jack has loved doo wop music since he was a child and first saw the 1993 movie, “The Sandlot.” Set in the summer of 1962, the film features legendary doo wop and R&B music from that time period. Additionally, Jack cites influence from artists such as Jimmy Beaumont & The Skyliners, The Drifters, Lou Christie, Dion & The Belmonts and Kid Kyle.
Jack performed on premiere night of American Idol Season 21, which aired on Sunday, February 19, 2023. During the show, Jack is seen singing the iconic doo wop song by Fred Parris & The 5 Satins entitled 'I Remember (In the Still of the Night)' accompanied on background vocals by Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan... and Mango (DJ Mike's colorful dancing and singing parrot!) Mango gets the chance to show off, dancing to his favorite song 'Rockin' Robin' with Jack during their memorable segment.
In 2023, Jack released on CD his first album of original material entitled “Love Makes Me Dream.” The album features twelve modern "doo wop" styled tracks written, arranged and recorded by Jack. He handles all lead/ background vocals and instrumentation. In 2024, the collection was remastered and released on vinyl.
